Each month and throughout the season we have asked Darlington fans to vote on who has been their "YOURCLUB DFC Men's Player of the Month" via a YC Poll. Who will be your choice this month for the final time in the 2023/24 season?
Who has been your YOURCLUB DFC Men's Player of April? 🤔
The team played four league games in the final month of the season, winning three (away to Warrington and at home to Southport and Farsley Celtic, securing safety) and drawing once (away to Chester on the final day of the season).
The team bagged eight goals across April (the third most this season in a single month), with two each for Cameron Salkeld, Aidan Rutledge and Cedric Main. Matty Cornish and Jake Lawlor (his first of the season, and what a time to score it...) both scored one each.
Matty Young only conceded twice in the month, keeping two clean sheets from four games.
Seven players started every game in the month - Matty Young, Ben Hedley, Toby Lees, Scott Barrow, Jacob Lawlor, Tom Platt and Cameron Salkeld.
In other news, Cameron Salkeld was voted Men's Player of the Season and Matty Cornish's wonder strike at Blyth was voted Men's Goal of the Season. Steve Watson and Terry Mitchell both signed new deals with the club, whilst (at time of writing), Tommy Taylor, Ben Liddle and Jonny Ngandu departed as pre-season plans started to take shape.
Scott Barrow, Aidan Rutledge and Matty Young all returned to their parent clubs following their loan spells.
