Missed yesterday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the Kidderminster Harriers game.

WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON

After a hugely thrilling end to last season resulting in the 'Great Escape', welcome back to Blackwell Meadows for our first league match of the 2024-25 season.

Many thanks to everyone that has contributed to this tremendous 'Boost the Budget' total of £189,225. Steve and Terry have used their budget well by retaining and recruiting a blend of experience and potential.

Our opponents today will present an excellent test as to how much our squad has been strengthened. Kidderminster Harriers are a full-time outfit and find themselves back in National League North after only one season in the National League.

Steve and Terry aren't the only ones that have been busy through the summer. The expected new floodlights have been installed on top of the existing columns. This has been a joint venture between Darlington Football Club and Darlington Rugby Club, supported by an £18k grant from the Premiership Stadium Improvement Fund.

As well as significantly increasing the illumination on the pitch, the LED system will be very reliable and also reduce energy costs.

We have also carried out improvements to the public address system. There are two new speakers in the stand, which will particularly benefit those seated in Blocks D and E. We have also installed a speaker at the end of the stand directed into the open end. We also replaced the defective speaker on the clubhouse balcony.

There are also two new speakers located on top of the groundsman's garage - although we still need to complete the wiring into the clubhouse for these.

No doubt there are many in the Tin Shed that will be pleased to note that we utilised the access equipment to replace the famously annoying 'flickering light'!

Finally, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of Kidderminster Harriers. Enjoy the game!
