DFCSG News - Buxton, Tuesday 28th January 2025

Missed yesterday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the Buxton game.

WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON

Last week's gritty 1-0 victory at league leaders Kidderminster Harriers was sealed by Cedric Main's moment of individual brilliance, but the result wouldn't have been possible without the team's collective effort.

The harsh reality of juggling semi-professional football with day jobs is ever more apparent during long midweek trips, so the result was testament to this squad's togetherness and character. Also, full marks to the 58 supporters who also made the trip. What incredible commitment!

Tonight's match against Buxton promises to be another test of our resilience and determination. Buxton are always formidable opponents and matches against them are rarely straightforward. Known for their strong organisation and speed on the break, the Bucks will pose a stern challenge.

At the time of writing, The Bucks occupy 10th place in the league, having slipped back from the play-off places in recent weeks as a consequence of three defeats in their last four games.

Connor Kirby is the club's top scorer on 7 goals, whilst Buxton's squad also features Tom Elliot who played 41 games for Darlo during the 2018/19 season.

I'm hoping that the magic of playing under our bright floodlights delivers another memorable night at Blackwell Meadows. It's set to be a battle worth watching!

Finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of Buxton FC.

'DARLO TILL I DIE' PODCAST

DFCSG Director Andy Hodgson was a guest on the latest edition of the independent podcast, "Darlo Till I Die", ran by Adam Cattell. Adam is a lifelong Darlington fan and has lived in Australia with his family for around ten years now.

Adam, Andy and Darlo Fans Radio's very own Mike Cansfield talked about the recent game at Leamington, the season so far, Steve Watson and Terry Mitchell's performance 12 months into their reign, DFCSG's recent financial support of the playing budget and expectations/hopes for the remainder of the season, among many other DFC topics (plus a brilliant Walsall/FA Cup-related quiz!).

You can search for and listen to Adam's "Darlo Till I Die" podcast via Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
