Bank Holiday Monday away from home is never an easy assignment, so full credit must go to Steve Watson, his staff and the players for securing an excellent three points at Radcliffe. A 1-0 victory, a clean sheet and a thoroughly professional performance were exactly what was needed after a demanding start to the season.

What impressed me most was the character and resilience shown by the team. Reduced to ten men against a competitive Radcliffe side, Darlo defended with real determination and organisation.

Despite injuries to key players and several subs being asked to play out of position, we still carried a threat going forward. Those are the sort of performances that build confidence and belief within the dressing room.

The travelling support also deserves enormous credit. Once again, our fans turned out in impressive numbers and backed the team from first whistle to last. The connection between the players and supporters remains one of the club’s greatest strengths and can often make the difference in tight contests.

This afternoon we welcome a King's Lynn Town side that has become a familiar opponent in recent years. Although the Linnets fell short of expectations last season, they remain one of the division's strongest clubs. Encounters between the two sides are rarely straightforward and are often decided by fine margins.

King's Lynn arrive at Blackwell Meadows in 14th place with seven points from their opening six matches. A victory today would see Quakers move above them in the table, but they travel north in confident mood following an impressive 3-1 win over Scarborough.

Under the leadership of long-serving captain Michael Clunan, they possess plenty of experience, while Jesse Nwabueze and Carlton Ubaezuonu provide a significant attacking threat.

Last season's league meetings both ended 1-1, highlighting how little there has been between the clubs in recent years. If we are to build on Monday's excellent result, another disciplined and determined display will be required, along with greater ruthlessness in the final third.

Finally, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of King’s Lynn Town.

Our next away trip is to Chorley on Tuesday (8th September). The coach will depart at 4.30pm. The price for adult DFCSG members is £26 (£13 juniors) and adult non-members is £29 (£15 juniors).

We then travel to Marine on Saturday 12th September That coach will depart at 10.30am. The price for adult DFCSG members is £28 (£14 juniors) and adult non-members is £31 (£16 juniors).
