Missed yesterday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the Chester game.
WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON
Didn't that victory at Farsley feel good! It was great to see Josh & Danny get their first 3 points of the season…the hard work is paying off. If the players continue to apply the same determination and bravery on the ball, then I've no doubt that we'll climb the table to safety.
The DFCSG Annual General Meeting was held on 26th October 2023 at the Dolphin Centre. Thanks to everyone who took the time to attend and vote on important matters.
We welcome Mick Dawson, Richard Baker, and Cheryl Pattison, who were newly elected to the DFCSG Board. We also congratulate David Steel, Liam Tinkler, Joanne Cameron, and Andrew Matthews on their re-election. I'd also like to thank retiring Director Ryan Jones for his valuable work over the past three years. David Johnston and Chris Stockdale were re-elected to the DFC Board.
In other news, we've now completed our review of tenders to be DFC's kit supplier for next season, and we hope to release further details in the near future, with the popular kit vote to follow.
Our former Football League rivals, Chester FC, visit Blackwell Meadows following an excellent FA Cup run. Chester's league form has also been impressive with four victories on the bounce, including a 2-0 home win against Scunthorpe United.
Young striker Charlie Caton has been in good form, whilst long serving midfielder George Glendon always performs well. No doubt it'll be a feisty encounter and we'll need to be at our best to get something from the game.
Finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of fellow fan-owned club, Chester FC. Enjoy the game!
DARLINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB HALL OF FAME
This afternoon, we will have some special guests in hospitality for the induction of the first tranche of individuals to the Darlington FC 'Hall of Fame'. This will be in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the fortunes Darlington FC specifically during the 1960s.
This project was first 'hatched' in early 2022 by DAFTS (Darlington Away Far Travelling Supporters), who are a social group of exiled supporters. In April 2022, DFCSG canvassed supporters for their nominations.
DAFTS, after some lengthy deliberations in conjunction with the DFCSG Board, have decided on a list of seven inductees, which are:
Look out on YourClub in the coming days for a report on today's event (listed under 'Fans Services').
The 'Hall of Fame' will initially be a 'virtual' gallery on YourClub until such time that the Club is in the position to have a physical exhibition for fans to be able to view.
Later this season, we will be back to canvass supporters for their nominations for those players/officials staff that made outstanding contributions to Darlington FC during the 1970s.
