Who has been your YOURCLUB DFC Men's Player of August? 🤔
The team played six league games across the month, starting with three defeats at home to Curzon Ashton and then away to Hereford and Scunthorpe United.
Results started to pick up with a 1-1 home draw with Brackley and then a first win of the season, 3-2 away at Alfreton. The month closed with a hotly contested 2-2 draw with South Shields in front of a 2,000+ crowd at Blackwell Meadows.
Seven players made their debuts for the club in August - Toby Lees, Jordan Windass, Jordan Mustoe, Tom Platt, Cameron Salkeld, Finlay Barnes and Mitchell Curry - and Will Hatfield made a triumphant return for this second spell.
Finlay Barnes in particular made quite an impact, scoring twice only minutes after coming on as a substitute at Alfreton to help us secure a win. Toby Lees also scored on his Darlo debut on the opening day.
Five players - Tommy Taylor, Jake Lawlor, Jordan Mustoe, Tom Platt and Jacob Hazel - were ever-presents across the month. Alongside Finlay Barnes, Andrew Nelson scored twice (in four starts).

In an extremely tight poll, the YOURCLUB DFC Men's Player of August was Andrew Nelson!
Andrew (28% of the vote) just pipped Will Hatfield (26%) and Tommy Taylor (19%) to the trophy. Well done Nella! 🏆
