Merry Christmas DFC Volunteers!

David Steel | 24th December 2022

Some of the players wanted to wish all of our amazing volunteers a "Merry Christmas!" via a little video clip. But it didn't quite go to plan...

When David Wheater suggested that he and some of the players wanted to send the DFC volunteering team a Christmas video this year to thank them for all they do for the club, DFCSG Director Andrew Scullion shot down to training with his camera.

A quick bit of filming of the lads passing on their festive wishes and thanks to the DFC volunteering army who make both match and non-matchdays happen - what could possibly go wrong?!

Well, see for yourself in a video that would have easily made Denis Norden chuckle:

The video was sent to each DFC volunteer by email earlier this week to show the appreciation that the club holds for them.

As a fan-owned football club, DFC is run almost exclusively by a dedicated band of volunteers who work in their own time for free, covering both matchday and non-matchday roles. Without them we would struggle to operate at our current level or have a club at all.

All volunteers are as important as each other to the function of our club. Some are lifelong supporters, others are not, but all have a passion to be part of something that makes a positive impact on the lives of others.

The DFCSG board, themselves a team entirely made up of volunteers, would also like to thank each and every one of our wonderful volunteers for everything that they do for the club. Thank you!

Volunteering can be extremely rewarding and is a great way to meet new people and put your skills to use for the greater good of Darlington Football Club.

If you're interested in getting involved in 2023, then we'd love to hear from you.

And remember that you can join our volunteers in becoming an Owner of Darlington FC by clicking here.

Thanks to DFCSG Directors Andrew Scullion and Paul Cooper for their hard work on the volunteer video.
