Missed yesterday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the Warrington game.
WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON
Today we face Warrington Town, our old foes from Northern Premier League – Division One North. Town finished the 2022–23 season as runners-up and were promoted to the National League North for the first time in the club's history, beating Bamber Bridge 1–0 in the play-off final at Cantilever Park. Last season, The Yellows ended their debut campaign with a credible twelfth place standing.
At the time of writing, Warrington occupy 18th place in the table. Recent league form has been decent and includes some credible results at Scunthorpe (draw), Chorley (draw) and Radcliffe (win). Former Peterborough United and Cambridge United midfielder, Paul Carden, was appointed Warrington Town’s manager in late September 2024 for his second spell at the Club, so there's a good case for the "new manager bounce" having an impact.
The Yellows have some decent players amongst their ranks including Josh Amis, who can be a handful up top; Connor Woods has been playing well, and Jay Harris (formerly of Wrexham and Tranmere) provides experience. As the old saying goes, there are no easy games in this league.
Our last game against Warrington ended in a 1-3 away win for Quakers with goals coming from Cameron Salkeld and Aiden Rutledge. Let's hope for more of the same today. If we can add a cutting-edge to our possession and creativity, then it won't be long before we string together run of victories and, most likely, hand out a couple of thrashings in the process.
Finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of Warrington. Enjoy the game!

YORK CITY FANS CALL FOR END TO SHORT NOTICE CHANGES IN NATIONAL LEAGUE
The York City Supporters' Trust have written to the National League Board, calling for an end to short notice kick off and fixture schedule changes. The trust pointed to two recent examples of games being moved at less than a month’s notice. Both involved the kick-off times being moved from 3pm to 5.30pm to accommodate live television broadcast scheduling.
The Trust highlighted that these decisions left many supporters, who had already arranged travel, with no available options for public transport after the game. Fans who had invested time and money into following their team were faced with either having to cancel their plans or incur additional, unforeseen costs.
For traveling supporters, the late kick-off means that train schedules do not align, forcing many to either make costly travel adjustments or forgo attending the match entirely.
The Trust proposes that the National League introduce a five-week minimum notice period for fixture changes, aligning with the practices of the EFL and Premier League. Fortunately, in the National League North we don't have that issue.
