Missed Saturday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the King's Lynn game.
WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON
Two-thirds of the season is now complete, and the league table is taking shape. Quakers occupy 10th place, six points outside the play-offs with two games in hand. We're nine points from equalling last season's total, which is testament to the improvements made by Steve & Terry.
Chester, Scunthorpe and Kidderminster look like title favourites with Brackley & Chorley not too far behind.
It feels like the last two play-off places are still up for grabs and well within our grasp. History suggests that we should target around 75 points to secure a play-off spot, a feat achieved last season by Boston United who finished in 6th place and subsequently won promotion.
Victory today would see us close the gap on King's Lynn Town to three points with two games in hand.
The Linnets visit Blackwell Meadows on the back of a 0-1 home defeat to Hereford FC, which followed a mixed run of results including one win, two draws and one defeat.
Town still possess some very good players in the form of Jonny Margetts, Gold Omotayo and Kyle Callan-McFadden, so it'll be a tough test. There are no easy games in National League North!
Some Darlo fans might recognise Kings Lynn defender Greg Taylor who made 35 appearances for Darlo after being signed by Mark Cooper during the 2010-11 season.
Finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of King's Lynn Town.
MEN'S PLAYER OF JANUARY
Congratulations to Pete Jameson who was our YOURCLUB DFC Men's Player of January!
Pete took 40% of your votes (from a shortlist of ten players!), beating Will Hatfield (31%) into second place. Well done Pete on your second Men's POTM award this season!
Look out on YOURCLUB in early-March to get involved in February’s vote.
FSA STATEMENT: BADENOCH SCORES OWN GOAL
The Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch claims that she's "always said" she doesn’t back a "waste of money" football regulator…
In response, the FSA have said: "It's curious that Kemi Badenoch now opposes the regulator as we have seen correspondence she sent to a constituent a couple of years ago when she said "I support these reforms". This is what's known in football as an own goal, Kemi.
"We'd also remind her that the Football Governance Bill was a Conservative Party proposal, which featured in their last manifesto, and many of her colleagues did excellent work on the Bill. She's throwing that on the scrap heap to gain favour with a few rich club owners.
"The Premier League is currently spending around £50m per season on legal fees fighting cases which could be handled by a regulator costing one-fifth of that, while protecting a lot more clubs. And football will cover the costs, this isn't coming out of the public purse.
"She claims to have spoken to people in the 'industry' – we prefer to call it the game – but that doesn't appear to include the EFL who represent 72 clubs and back the regulator. Can Kemi let everyone know exactly who she’s spoken to in football?
"She has certainly not spoken to the FSA or our supporter groups who are right behind this legislation which puts a block on domestic involvement in a European Super League, offers more protection to our clubs, and gives supporters a greater say in the game."
