Missed yesterday's game or just couldn't get hold of a programme? YOURCLUB Content brings you DFCSG's programme notes from the Boston United game.

WELCOME FROM JON SADDINGTON, DFCSG CHAIR

Welcome to the first evening match of the 2023/24 season. We do battle with old foes Boston United for what should be a tough encounter.

The Pilgrims have enjoyed a decent start to the season, including victories against South Shields, Tamworth, and Warrington, and will be aiming for a play-off place come April.

Summer signings include Michael Bostwick, a no-nonsense centre-back from Stevenage, Keziah Martin and Tom Leak, both from Kidderminster Harriers, and goal scorer Jimmy Knowles from Mansfield Town. Manager Ian Culverhouse knows the league well, having previously managed Kings Lynn and Kettering Town.

August proved to be tough month for Darlo, as we suspected it might be, but recent performances against Alfreton and South Shields suggest that we won’t be in the bottom half for too long. The addition of Will Hatfield and Finlay Barnes have made a big difference and Nella is improving with every game.

Off the pitch, we will be submitting a grant funding application for new floodlights in the very near future, the safety improvements to the Clubhouse balcony have been completed and we are on the cusp of announcing our kit supplier for the 2024/25 season. Watch this space…

Finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the supporters, players, and officials of Boston United FC. Enjoy the game!

NOMINATIONS FOR THE DFCSG BOARD

It’s that time of year again for DFCSG members to submit nominations for Directors to the DFCSG Board. DFCSG members should have received an email on 29th August inviting nominations. If you are a DFCSG member and didn’t receive this email, please contact neil.raper@darlingtonfc.org.

The closing date for submitting nominations is Thursday 21st September. If 9 or more nominations are received, there will be a full ballot of the DFCSG membership. If 8 or fewer nominations are received, they will be subject to an 'affirmative' ballot at the AGM. The 'affirmative' ballot requires that for a nominee to be elected to the Board, they would need to receive at least 50% of the votes of those members attending the AGM.

The provisional date for the AGM is Thursday 26th October and formal notifications will follow in due course.
