D-A-R-L-O, WE ARE D-A-R-L-O! - Warrington (24/25)

Steve Rees | 10th November 2024

Across the 2024/25 season, YOURCLUB Content will bring you the inside track on the Darlo fans who have got the chance to pick the music played at one of our home games this season thanks to their 2024 ‘Boost The Budget’ contribution…and bring you their playlist too!

Warrington Town, Saturday 26th October 2024 - Jonny Bussell

I've supported Darlo since I was about 10, but we got a season ticket when I was 12. I remember being in the wooden family stand back at Feethams.

My favourite player was Neil Wainwright. Always loved it when he got on a maze up. My favourite team was the one that won the Northern League when we were at Heritage Park. All of them are club legends for what they did that season.

My favourite current player is Will Hatfield. What a legend! Always gives 100% and pops up with some quality goals.

My favourite manager has to be Hodgy. His teams always played exciting football and you never knew who he was going to sign next! It felt like we had a new player every week!

The funniest thing to happen to me as a Darlo fan - albeit it's not that funny looking back - was it was always a laugh when I was a teenager legging it back from Hartlepool's ground to the train station, trying not to get caught!

My favourite moment was probably Gateshead away when we drew 0-0 to get to the FA Trophy final - it was a great day! Also special mention to the game at Spenny in the Northern League with Tez Galbraith's goal. Without that win I don't know where we'd be?

Lowest point was when we lost to Rochdale in the Play-Off semi-finals on penalties. Me and my mate Dazzler were both living in London at the time and the coach journey back was so bleak; it took about 8 hours!

I used to like going to York in terms of my most enjoyable away games. Easy to get to, nice pubs and we got a few good results over the years too.

My expectations for this season are a late surge for the play-offs, making us the form team going into the PO games!

And I'd love a clock that works at the new stadium! :)
