Boost The Budget Eve

By David Steel

Twas the night before Boost The Budget...

Tomorrow is May 1st which, as every Darlo fan around the world knows, is Boost The Budget launch day!

Across the whole of May, an investment window remains open for Darlo fans to able to donate their own funds into the following season's playing budget.

Last May, a staggering £189,225 was raised - on top of the £32,080 that was raised in January 2024 (that played a huge part in keeping the team up that season...) - bringing the BTB total to just shy of £1m raised in eight years. Incredible.

That £189,225 raised across May 2024 was a significant contribution to Steve Watson's playing budget for the 2024/25 season, which - up until the final weeks of the campaign - saw the club hover around the lower-end of the play off spaces.

On the evening before Boost The Budget 2025/26 kicks off, we wanted you all to hear from the architect of BTB, current Harvey Madden Award holder and a previous DFCSG Chair, Wayne Raper.

You heard the man!

As a fan-owned club with 1,310 of us owning 90% of DFC, we can effectively dictate the level of ambition and quality of the squad by setting a significant chunk of the manager's playing budget via Boost The Budget.

We are excited to be launching this latest playing budget investment campaign again tomorrow and we thank everyone in advance for their donations, however large or small.
