Following the latest chapter in our club's history - an FA Cup 1st Round victory over League One side Swindon Town (the club's first win over a Football League club since fan ownership was initiated at Darlington FC in 2012) - we found ourselves in the draw for the 2nd Round!
As a fan-owned club, and thanks to the initiative and drive of Mark Adams, our incredible supporters stood up and raised an amazing £1,622 to help toward any costs incurred through travel and accommodation for the long trip to Swindon.
Without doubt we gave the team a helping hand in that famous victory by assisting in the preparation for the game.
The 2nd Round saw us make yet another long away trip, this time to League One's Bristol Rovers.
As with Swindon, the fans put in place another fundraiser and more than doubled that 1st Round preparation fund, with £3,670 being raised in just a matter of days.
The money raised was gratefully received and hugely appreciated by Alun, David and the rest of the Darlington team, and yet another example of a fantastic fan-inspired initiative.
Thank you to everyone who dug deep!
